December 17, 2023

I didn't do jack shit today.

I mean, I did my nails and watched Wonder Woman.  Did a load of laundry then made pancakes and bacon for dinner.

Took a shit.

That literally sums up my day.

Oh! I watched the first season of the First Wives Club on Netflix.  Love me some Jill Scott.  Have since she whacked that uppity shit in the back of the head with the bottle in Why did I get married. Michelle Banteau is kinda funny too. She hosts the Circle on Netflix and she was the MC in that survival of the thickest I watched last ... well I was gonna say last week but that was like four days ago.

Shit.

The baby turns 22 in a day.

Yes.  Yes 22 is still playing relentlessly in my head.

The middle minion is on the train. At this precise moment, she's in Greensboro NC.  112 miles away.  I briefly toyed with staying up to go get her from the train station but that'll be at three am. I love my child but I need Amtrak to do better. I took that very same train down to Charlotte from NJ 26... oh god old moment... years ago and I remember damn well that that train got in at a reasonable hour but now 26...oh god damn I feel old... years later that bitch wanna roll in like a WYD booty call at three am... DO  BETTER. AMTRAK!

I'm doing pretty good at remembering to do this every night.

Why does Netflix pretend like that twatwaffle Meghan Markle is the reason Suits was popular??  Ugh... I can't stand her and Cuntmilla. Now watch me finally be able to move to England and be one of her loyal subjects. Snort.

My head hurts.  I'm about to fall in to bed and give my pillow some head.

Snort... like I remember how to give head.  It's been way too long.

I think I need therapy y'all.  I'm cracking up. Well not that's not true I was cracked years ago. Now I'm broken and laughing at my own bad jokes.

Snort!

Groan.  Help me

Also I think my keyboard is dying. Poop.

Okay, I'm really signing off now.  Night!

December 16, 2023

Is this Day three of Facecrack?  I've kinda lost count.  I don't wake up and it's the first thing I check.  One person outside from the six I've told has noticed.  They texted me and asked if I'd blocked them.  I don't block anyone.  Well, that's not entirely true but you have to do a lot for me to click that button.

Had a very interesting Lyft night.

Also had my first contract violation with them but it was taken off pretty quickly.  I went to go pick up a Lyft ride in Gastonia and the older lady, her son, Daughter, and grandson get in the car.  Now, my screen says I'm picking them up taking them just outside of McAdenville and taking them home.  Before I can even question how asinine that sounds to me, the older woman says to one of the younger adults that they're going to have to wake up the grandson because he's going to miss the lights.  Big honking screeching sound in my heads.  Wait a minute.... Your stop is the McAdenville lights???  And she says yes.  With a dead ass straight face this ditzy ass white woman looks me in the eye and tells me that they've books a Lyft to go through McAdenville to see the lights.  I told her no and that I was cancelling the ride.  Now the young man, (I'm assuming was her son in law because the girl looked a bit ike her and had the same clueless why is this lady mad face as her mother.) looks like he wants to say "see, I told you this was a shitty idea."  and he starts to get back out holding the still thankfully sleeping little boy.  Mom is angry.  Why won't I take them to see the lights?

Now if it had been a Monday thru Thursday I would probably have not had as big a deal with this run but Saturday night at 7 pm, the line just to get into McAdenville is about a one to two hour wait.  Then you can't really get through it speedily because the normal 25 mph speed limit is kinda reduced to like 2 because people want to see everything.  So picking them up at 7, we might have gotten into the lights around 8 maybe 8:30 gotten through them by 8:45-9:15 and then back to the house.  So looking at a minimum of about two hours with this family in my car.

For $13.09.  Oh no, you don't need to go back and read that again.  The whole trip would have paid me $13.09.  See when you add a stop to a Lyft, I'm supposed to get there, wait up to 5 minutes and then continue on.  If this had been a normal Lyft that whole trip might have taken 20 minutes but nooooooo they want to catch a Lyft to see the lights.  Not a Lyft to get out and walk the lights and call a Lyft on the other side, not they wanted me to take them through the lights.  No. No.  Nah.  Hell no.

She called Lyft and complained.  But I beat her to the punch because the moment I drove off I was on the phone with customer service and they guy was like why did you cancel the stop was approximately five or somewhat miles from the start and destination.  While he's talking to me, her complaint comes through.  She emailed it in.  She told them I flat out refused to take them anywhere.  I don't think she gave a reason just that I refused.  So now, I'm explaining to the operator and the very best thing I can tell him is of he had google he'd understand.  But I did tell him that they didn't want an actual stop stop, she wanted her "stop" to be going through this three miles town at two freaking miles per hour.  Now I don't know if he googled it or what but he put me on hold and came back less than two minutes later and said not to worry about it, they were going to handle this and it wouldn't affect me.

Also, not sure if I mentioned it last night, but my heat is busted in my car so Mommy bought me a little dashboard heater.  It was working really well, and then it wasn't.  I thought I blew a fuse because the whole cigarette outlet is toast now.  I stopped by Auto Zone today and pulled the "Im a woman and only know that car go zoom" face and he went in and got the fuse only to show me that it wasn't blown.  So now I have a way bigger problem.  Yay.

I really need my night meds to kick in.  Toodles for the night, I'm going to lay down.

December 15, 2023

 Day 2 without Facebook.

You'd think since I preface every blog with my days off Facebook count that I care but I'm finding that I don't really care for the book of Faces.  And with that comes this odd calm of not seeing people deliriously happy and at the Christmas parties no one ever invites me to.

Sometimes I wonder if I should have a Christmas party but then I don't think I should.  I go all Donna Reed when I'm in charge of entertaining.  It's pretty for you, but so not pretty for me.  For me, it involves a lot of very spastic movements.  Maybe a lot of yelling and a few tears...

I went lifting today.  I like Lyfting way more than Dashing.  I don't have to do anything except drive.  True I get the odd stinky person but that's why they make glade air freshener oil.  I just have to remember that one pump will do it.  Two is pushing it and three I have to put down all the windows.  I will not be lifting at Christmas though.  Oh hell no.  I did that at Thanksgiving and oh my lord the airport was a nightmare straight out of M Night Shamalan. People were actually getting out of cabs and walking to the entrance.  If they'd have staying in the cabs a lot of traffic might have been managed but then Charlotte drivers don't know how to queue correctly.  They never have.

I am going to DD around Christmas and probably Christmas Eve because they have been giving super huge tips and I just ordered my Catering bag so hopefully I'll get orders that make the bending and lifting and climbing of stairs worth it again.  I probably never should have ventured into Lyft.  I would never know how much more I like it.  But I guess that's life.  Always finding new ways to live it.

Had a ride all the way from Albermarle road up by Lawyers road all the way to Stanley today.  An hour and a half in the car with this guy that was a tire mechanic and smelled like it.  Not a bad smell, per se just not a smell I would volunteer to smell for that long.

I don't really have much to say tonight.  I'm actually rather tired.  Ive already turned on the heated blanket that keeps my bed nice and sweltering.   It should be toasty hot by now.

So goodnight.  Sleep tight!

We never really leave high school...

It's a lesson that I have learned and keep having to re learn over and over again.

The characters never change ever.  The cast yes, but never the characters.  It's rather like Whitney houston and Deborah Cox's song. Same Script; Different Cast.

Usually I play the gullible bank freak outcast that wants desperately to be friends with all the cool people at the expense of her dignity.  The one that always, always, always ends up broken and alone.

I think this time I will play the band geek that already knows the lesson and sits back as the rest of the idiots in the drama play out their parts.

So... The cast of characters:
  • The wife... aka the cheerleader
  • The Husband... aka that guy, the cool one that every girl wants (Or so he thinks)
Caught up?  Good.

So the band geek became friends with both Th Guy and the The Cheerleader.  In truth, she kinda liked Guy more because he told the truth all the time whether you wanted to hear it or not.  And at one point the band freak was so super horney that she actually flirted with The Guy.  But here's where the drams begins to unfold.  The Guy turned her down and eventually the Freak found what she needed (which was basically a quick fuck somewhere) and she simply settled for The Guy's friendship because as stated before she actually respected him.  Meanwhile the Freak was occasionally hanging out with the Cheerleader but the more she did, the more she realized she was the beard.  The one that covers up.  When the cheerleader wanted to go out and screw the nearest dick, she basically told people she was hanging out with the freak.  When she was truly in trouble and stranded with the dick du jour, the freak did the good friend thing and went to the rescue.

But then the cheerleader slipped up and showed her batshit crazy side.  By this point The Guy had already left and kept trying to make a break but the Cheerleader held things over him.

About a year and half passed and the Freak no longer talks to the Cheerleader but sees The Guy often.  The freak still actually respects The Guy more from getting to know him.  So she actually tells The Guy about the night that the Cheerleader was stranded at the motel with the dick du jour.  Oops!  The Guy, while claiming that he knew the shit that the Cheerleader was in, didn't actually know that.

Damn that Band Freak!

The Guy ran straight to the Cheerleader to tell her what the Band freak said and as predicted, the cheerleader cussed the Band Freak out.

End of Drama.

Screw the names and the tags.  I knew that eventually the word would get to the wife that I told.  After she put a not so veiled Fuck you on facebook, I knew that the extremely long and blown out text was coming.  I figured it would either be a text on my phone or a message on Facebook.  Whichever served the purpose.  She chose text.

OMG I was so relieved.  I could go on with my life.

Except for one thing.

SHE ACTUALLY THINKS I WANT HER HUSBAND.  THAT I WANT HER HUSBAND TO BE MINE.

That's the one thing I can't get over.  Because it seems that the both of them think this.  For some reason they both seem to think that I want a relationship with the Guy.

The Guy has a certain charm about him.  He demands respect just by being who he is, that it true but the Guy has a serious downfall.  he thinks that women who try to be his friend only are doing so because they want a taste of the guy.

I want a quick fuck from him in late 2014 maybe early 2015.  After that I wanted nothing but friendship.  But she's worked it up in her mind that betraying her secrets I'm trying to get her out of the picture and put myself in.

I have no words.  I really don't.  I can't for the life of me see how she has held onto this belief for so damn long.  Or how he has.  No matter how many times I go over it in my head I just don't get it.  Maybe I flirt unconsciously when I talk?  Maybe I'm too friendly with men?  Dafuq?!?

So like I said, we never leave high school.  There will always be the one that plays the part of the band freak who just wants friends.  There will always be a plastic little spastic that gets high and fucks anything that can fit in her holes.  There will always be that Guy that thinks if a female is nice to him it must be because she wants him between her legs.  The Cheerleader will always think that every woman wants her man because she is so damn insecure.

To hell with them.  To hell with them all.  Fuck it, I haven't be apart of any band in nearly twenty years so even fuck the Band freak role.  I'm just me and I think I have learned the lesson of high school never ends.

So I'm at the point where if I never speak to either of them again my life will be so awesome.  I realize that since I work with The guy, silence may be difficult but damn if I won't try.

MAn Fuck High School....

I've been away for a long time

I'm going to be honest. I have been a very good girl social media wise because at first I was trying to show someone that not everything in my life has to go online for people who know me to know.  I was in a way, trying to show him that I'm really not one of those people that shares everything.  Then it turned into me thinking that my facebook friends really don't need to know every detail of my life and even that evolved into, Fuck it, I don't have time to be on Facebook typing out whats wrong or what I feel or what's happening.

Like seriously, I haven't had the time to spend online in awhile now.  And when I have the time I would much rather prefer to be with actual friends or in my bed.  I love my online friends but I'm sorry sometimes, you come way below my other priorities.  And I don't mean that to sound cruel because I'm sure that when your lives get hectic, I might be the last thing you think about.  So yeah...

I haven't posted my thoughts on the recent cop on black killings.  I haven't posted my thoughts on the church burnings nor the South Carolina church shooting.  I may have posted one thought on Sandra dying in Texas.  Partly because honestly, it's not worth any rant I might have.  Who's listening anyway?

But the last few 48 hours of my life.  They are something I need to blog about so that hopefully in a year when Timehop reminds me of this I will see it and remember that I need for it not to happen ever again.

I've blogged about the girl from work that annoys the shit out of me on random basises.  She had actually not annoyed me for a good while now.  Not so much that it stayed on my mind.  Saturday she did.  I was talking with my new boss about how they should open a chain of Howie's over where I live and how it would bring in the other side of the map where we don't deliver to.  In fact it would connect to the Sugar creek store.  I did however say to him that if they ever do open a Howies out here while I am still with the company, Sugar creek or wherever will lose me because yes, I will want to work five minutes away from my house.  F looked at me (mind you she was not in the conversation AT ALL) and said, "So what I hear is that you want to be selfish and inconvenience everyone else so that you will be getting what you want."  I actually didn't understand where she was coming from so I asked how did she figure I would be inconveniencing anyone.  She says because she likes her 20 minute drive and I was talking about adding at least 20 more minutes to her commute.  She thought I was talking about them moving the Sugar creek store to be closer to my house.

It has long been a pet peeve of mine people who jump in a conversation before they are one, invited to do so or two, know what the conversation is about.  She jumped in with both feet and didn't know anything about what I was saying.  And she got defensive.  And stayed defensive throughout the day sniping at me in anyway she could.  I'm sorry but I had daydreams of docking her, throwing her in a pan and running her through the oven.  I would never do it because that would be... well.. uh... that would be murder... borderline torturous murder but still murder... and I don't wanna go to jail. Jail is bad.  I look horrible in orange.  Jail is NOT like Orange is the New Black.  Jail is bad.  No murder.  Just daydreams.

Then today, my car finally decided that since I won't listen to it's random chokes and small deaths it was going to stage a quite dramatic death today.  It died three or four times before I got to work today on the way to work.  One of those time I pulled off on the side of 485.  That time was probably where I ran over something that sliced my already balding tire.  By the time it sat in the parking lot at work for an hour... it was flat.  And dead.  Very dead.

But I wasn't actually upset about it because I know whats wrong and it's a cheap fix really.  While I was dealing with it, I had a customer come into the store that I dread seeing everytime he comes in.  Every food service person has this customer.  They all hate this customer.  He says he wants his usual.  Then he changes it.  He says yes when you repeat his order back to him to confirm it because you KNOW he's going to find fault in the final product which he does and he manages to make you feel two feet tall in the process.

Today was the first time he tried that shit on me.  It did not go well for him.

He ordered a medium Philly cheese steak pizza with no mushrooms, 2x the steak, and 2x the provolone.  He wanted the green pepper and the onion.  I repeated this back to him three times.  I did so in front of my manager, J.  He confirmed it.  I made it, I knew he was going to find fault with it and I was prepared. (Every time he comes in he does this and he always gets the messed up pizza as well as the free remake to take with him when he leaves.  I know this is his endgame.) He said I messed it up.  I told him point blank that I confirmed his order three times and he said yes.  He told me I was wrong.  Even though I had the power in my numbers to say, "Yes sir, I will remake that for free" I refused.  I called J who CONFIRMED that he heard the man confirm the order as I read it back to him.  The customer then told both of us that we were wrong and he did not say that he wanted green peppers.  Then he said he didn't like my attitude and wanted a refund because at this point it was clear by my non movement towards the makeline to remake his pizza that he wasn't getting a remake without serious fight from me.  J refunded his money but he wasn't done yet.  He somewhat politely (and I hate when angry customers suddenly get polite because it means they are about to rip you a new one) asked if he could tell me something and I said yes.  He said he overheard that I was having problems with my car and he didn't appreciate that I was taking my frustration out on him.  In my profession the image I present to the customer was everything and tonight my image was almost enough for him to take his business elsewhere (pretty sure that my blue contacted eyes were screaming "fine please do so you pompous asshat! Don't let the door hit you on the way out!)

When he was finished I asked him if I could respond.  He should have said no.  But he said yes.  I told him that I have been here at lease three times that he has done this to other members of the staff, changing his order and making them feel like they messed up when he does this just to get a free pizza out of it and he was not going to do it to me because I know what he said, I had a witness to what he said and that my attitude had nothing to do with my car and had everything to do with how I was being treated by him.  I was calm, I didn't yell, I didn't cuss, I just said it and I also let him know that everytime he walks out of here with two pizzas and tonight he was not going to do it.  he was not going to make me feel two feet tall to achieve his endgame.  He actually tried to come back with a response but I cut him off that tie and said "No, you had your say and I responded, it was over and there would be no more said on the subject and I hoped that he had a good night from then on there.  Goodbye."

And I walked away.

I'm part of the management team now.  I can't lose my cool but I also can't let people walk all over me.  I have been doing it way too much lately.  People are systematically taking pieces of me from me that I can't afford to lose anymore.  It's time for me to stop always being the one that says yes and I'm sorry.  It's time for me to say no.  Not No and I'm sorry, just no.  Enough is too much and I just can't and won't do it anymore.

I get up every morning and tell myself that today is a new day and I am me and no one is going to change who I am and now, now it's time for me to believe and enforce that so that's what I'm doing.  If I lose a few friends or acquaintances in the process, I'm sorry but part of knowing someone is to accept them as they are and the changes that comes with the world they live in shaping them.  This is one of my changes.  If you cannot handle it, I'm pretty sure that you know where the door is.

I need to go to bed.  IT's been a long weekend and I really want it to end now.  I never thought I would say this, but I am so glad it's Monday!

I'm sorry, Sunday is temporarily unavailable...

You see, it thinks it's Saturday and we are currently trying to handle this identity crisis...

Okay, see, Sunday is my happy happy joy joy day at work for a couple of reasons.  It used to be that way because it meant that I didn't have to see a certain shift leader.  Without him the store was like Disney land.  With him... eh not so much and a day working with Ambs was like working with any one of the great Disney role models that are just about always calm cool and collected.  And that's not me sucking up.  I'm serious...  On Sundays, Ambs is so chill it's like not work at all.  Even if we get a pop, it's no biggie. And after most Saturdays at Howies, Sunday's is a cake walk.  Nearly every Saturday at some point in the day one of us (Maybe more, maybe not, usually just me, Boss man has a song I love to hear that I can't write the words here because well, it's not very nice.) want to just lay down in a corner and cry because Sports and Bounce...  shudder... makes me tremble just thinking about it... Also I love Sundays because it means that Monday morning, I can totally sleep in so I just have to stay on my feet for a couple of more hours and then get home and Wham! Instant mini Vacation because my bed can claim me for up to 48 whole hours! (You know, unless I'm the on call driver which still means I can sleep in because they never need the on call driver until at least noon by which case 80% of the time I'm up and feeling mostly human by then so it's all good.)

But today!  OMG!  No, today was so big that it deserves to be written out in all of it's Valley Girl glory.  Like, Oh My God to the max! Today was like totally, like crazy!

Okay, enough of the Valley Girl.  The older I get the less I can stand to do it, hear it, or think about it.

But seriously.  Today, I swear that Sunday was having an identity crisis and thought that it was in reality, Saturday part two.  Bounce had ten and thirteen pie orders and Sports... well, they must have thought that their calendar said Saturday as well, because Oh My Damn! Even though they weren't on the half hour all day, they had some whoppers in there too... I think one was like a twelve pie order and those sumbishes are extra freaking large.  Oh I'm sorry, did you just refill your sauce and cheese Claudette?  No, you didn't, you must have been dreaming.  Because your sauce bucket is empty... again and you can see the bottom of the make line through what used to be your full cheese lexan... No, you didn't just fill that ten minutes ago.

Today I learned that it is possible to pour two bags of sauce into the lexan at the same time without ending up wearing the sauce like a noob.  Have I seen Joe do it plenty of times?  Yes. Did I think that it was the coolest thing since like ever?  Hell yes!  Have I tried it before?  Yes.  Did I end up wearing most of one bag?  Yes.  Did a good bit of the rest end up on the make line and the floor?  Yes.  Did it today?  No because I was in too much of a damn rush to think about the fact that I was doing it until after I'd done it.  Then Mecklenburg Community Church ordered six pies and I really should have expected it because I took the damn order but when it hit, I had I think two Sports and a bounce... a really BIG bounce (Think eight pizzas and 50 howie wings) on the screen as well as some personal orders.

Oh and the party trays...  I got to do TWO party trays today.  Notice I said I got to do them not that I had to do them.  If you did my job, you'd know that round pizzas and even deep dishes are a dime a dozen and can be done in no time (If you don't complain and need remakes every two minutes... ahem) but a party tray!!!  I LIKE those.  Two extra larges and I think a small (Might be a junior) all smushed together and sheeted out into a dough tray, this thing is 30 slices, a lot of sauce, a shitload of cheese, and ninety freaking pepperoni! (I just want someone to order that sumbish in a works.  Just once!  If I don't get to make it, I at least want to see it!)  And they the ones I did looked BOSS!!  I thought I was on a work high when the owner watched me do one and said it looked good but damn doing two in the space of ten minutes and having them come out looking as good as they did was like an orgasm and a good five hits off a hookah combined with a very good top shelf drink.  It was that good.

AND NO ONE LOST THEIR COOL!!!  Picture it, four women in one enclosed space and a while lotta stuff going on at once.  tensions are going to run high.  But no one got pissed off, no one screamed at anyone, no one whined or complained and as soon as Joe walked in, Ambs took the ladle from me and sent me on break.  I may have look like I was pissed at that moment, but I so wasn't.  My back hurt like a bitch and I was holding that one complaint that I knew would break the good mood.  Trust me, I went and sat in my car and my back was like a little baby whining "Thank you God for sitting down!"

We got another pop later tonight. Not nearly as hard but still a good little hit.  We ran out of wings.  Had enough for one 20 piece order and they got mostly flats and maybe two drums.  I found a lone rogue winge under the racks as I was cleaning.  It was skinny and scrawny and I know what you're going to ask.  Hell yes I popped that thing on a bread tray and sent it through the oven.  Best damn thing I ate all night to that point.

So it's now officially Monday.  My mini vacay is officially starting.  I'm tired. And I have the time card to prove it.  See?  Look at those hours!  I'm a beast man!  I did it and I'm still standing like that awesometastic pizza vixen I am!  Okay, maybe pizza vixen might be going a little too far.... Nah! I make pizzas and I look damn good while doing it and I'm good at it so yeah, awesometastic pizza vixen.  That's me.

Oh yeah... other stuff besides work.

For starters, Kay got asked out on a date.  Yes!! My Kay Kay!  A date!!  I was so floored that I didn't know how to respond.  I did tell her that I had to work all weekend so I didn't think a date was a good idea but then an invite to go to the mall showed up for her and I suspected that the boy was going to be there and that was their way of having their "date" but I let it slide.  Kids today think that adults my age were never their age and therefore, we are monumentally stupid.  But none the less, I let my big girl go to the mall unchaperoned and she did okay.  She spent all of her money on her sister and myself and she didn't have the funds to eat and we're working on that whole sometimes it's okay to be a little selfish thing but she had a good time and couldn't stop smiling about it for hours.  So I'm okay with it.  If she wants to do this again I will just have to make sure she has a little more money to work with.  She may still buy stuff for me and her sister but even Kay gets to a point where she thinks she is spending too much and she stops only using more to buy food.  So if I send her with a good bit, she will eat and have fun.

This little one on the other hand.  Well, that one may not live to see`14...  She asked me Friday if she could go to the library to do research on her report with her best friend who this month happens to be named Jaiden. I said fine but didn't know how they were going to get there.  Jaiden's mom came and picked her up and because I had to work late that night said that Livy could spend the night (I kinda like my kids friends' parents) I said okay and went on to work.  Saturday I told Kay to ask Livy via text what time she'd be back so that my mom could pick them up and Livy informed the both of us that she had taken TWO sets of clothing and she was spending the weekend not just Friday night.

Take a moment to think about who this chick just informed she was spending a weekend.  THink about that.  Relax, I let it go. She's not getting off scott free though.  She doesn't know it yet and she won't notice until it's way too late, but she is about to catch  it for that.  As soon as I have had some time to rest and think and plan.

A little parenting advice: Never punish when you are tired or on the spur of the moment.  Always sleep on it.  Always think about it.  Always weigh your pros and cons and then just after you have lulled your child into a false sense of security where they think that you've forgotten because you're... well old (I mean come on, we had rotary phones, we're like, ancient!) then WHAM! hit them with that well thought out punishment and watch them crumble.

Okay, Y'all, I'm one tired little monkey.  I am going to take my meds and go to bed.  Sometime tomorrow, if I don't get called in, I am going to go fight with Time Warner Cable.  They raised my bill 14 dollars in the past month with no explanation, so I think it's time to say bye bye to them.  Night guys and dolls.

I would use my customary "Stay Frosty" but we are under a winter Storm watch for the one inch of snow we are expecting. Oh don't get on me I know I'm a true northerner.  I've been here long enough to know that snow turns to ice really quick here and people turn form moderately crappy drivers to really shitty ones in a heartbeat.

So get toasty with your special one (or pillow) and cuddle up (or burrow under your covers)  Gather the ones you love close to you and make hot cocoa and watch crappy cheesy movies (or play hours of Rock band)  Take time to hold the ones you love close because one day you might wake up and they are gone and you will only have your memories of them to keep you warm at night.

Stay Warm, loves.  Scatterbrain Dette Loves you!

Ugh...

Randomness tonight...

1. So watching netflix... I've fallen in love with this BBC show called Call the Midwife about women who delivered babies in East London in the 1940's.  Love it.  But like all English shows, it has a Christmas episode.  American Television doesn't show this.  AT ALL>  Why not?  WHat does American television have against the Christmas episode of English shows?  They act like they don't exist all together and just go right on to the next season and the viewer is left with a million questions.  Like Downton Abbey.  If I hadn't wisened up and looked up the Christmas episodes, I would never have even half the answers I do now.  Ha, you thought I was going to give a spoiler.  Phooey on you.

2.  Watching Once Upon a Time tonight.  In true ABC style, they managed to turn the innocent tale of the sorcerer's apprentice into a dark and twisted tale.  Yea!  You caught my sarcasm.  I know you did.  I don't have any other opinion than to sit here with my mouth all twisted up in disgust.  But still I watch the show.  It's like my soap opera.

3. I have the next three days off.  Not sure how I feel about this but it's not going to change while my car is a very large piece of shit.  So I'm going to do something constructive with my time.  I'm going to binge watch Call the midwife with a side of Walking dead and if I'm not completely out of my fool mind by Tuesday night I *might* clean out my DVR.  I will be out of my mind.  This is not negotiable.  Since I;ve started working, I don't really want to be home.

4. Which leads me to randomness #4.  I don't really want to be at work either because I live there and that's not good.  People who live t work only tend not to have any other life.  I want another kind of life.

I want the life that the beginning of this summer made me think I'd have by now.  NO, I'm not about to go into another rant.  I want to, but I'm not.  The good news is I managed not to act like every breath he took Saturday night made me want to rip his face off.  That's progress, right?  I mean baby steps.  I know I must take baby steps.  (Stop laughing)

And a friend of mine tried really hard today to make me understand that if he uses me having kids as an excuse or really won't be seen with me outside of work, he can't really be what I want.  I'm not that desperate am I?  Oh God what if I am?  No, no, I'm not.  This is the brain's chemical reaction to the serotonin that lit it up like a Christmas tree a month ago.  That's all this is.  And it will go away.  And I will be fine and I will stop thinking in the back of my mind

I still have to give him his birthday present in a month.  I was stupid and set aside money from a couple of paychecks to buy him a carton of his favorite cigarettes a couple of times.  So now, I have cigarettes that taste like straight ass in my drawer and when I give them to him for his birthday present, he's going to still think that I'm hung up on him again.  Hopefully by them I won't be.

5. I have to be a good girl now.  Certain someone is on my Facebook now and if he thinks I believe that he doesn't use the damn thing incognito he's fallen down and hit his head.  Hah!  Nope!

THIS is why I don't say any names.  It's safer that way.

So I'm going to go and watch the Christmas Episode of Midwife and then tuck my self into bed until tomorrow.

Nighty o!

Special Customers... (And other randomness)

So uh yeah... tonight and extra special customer learned just WHY they don't generally let me talk to customers after 8 pm....

This guy came in and did his thug gangster crap to Felicia and I looked up and saw his face and figured he was messing with her and she and I were getting along today so I really thought, "He better not be messing with her..."  I went up there and he was trying to play it off like he was just messing with her but I'm pretty sure he saw my mom walk and thought he better play it off... Whatever, he got two menus and left the store.

About a half an hour later, he called FROM THE PARKING LOT to order a large pizza and 20 boneless wings but he was talking like I spoke ebonics and I couldn't understand him... I honestly thought he wanted me to put BOTH buffalo and BBQ on a ten piece wings.  To which he said,"You know what? I'm in the parking lot, I'm coming in."

My thought was, If you are the effing parking lot why not just walk in and place your order.  Followed closely by by, Be nice dette, be nice

ANYWAYS

He comes walking up to the door like he's gonna hurt someone and gets to the counter and says, "You know let me tell you like this."  And he wasn't playing either.  He was actually going to get mad at me and proceed to tell me off.  "Let me tell you like this." was the last thing he got out of his mouth before I looked him square in the eye and said "I really hope that you are playing with me because if you are about to tell me off I WILL come over this counter.  Not around it, OVER it."

The look on his face was the same look that all boys get when they've pissed off mom.  So I know he had home training by a good woman but oh man, I was so deadly serious.  He even tried to come back at me somewhat when he looked over at Falecia and said "What kind of customer service is this?"  To which I replied, "I don't have any customer service skill when customers act like that, now what do you want?"

I so could have gotten fired.  I know this and I am so thankful that my boss had gone home and that the owners weren't there.  I'm pretty sure I would have been turned out on my ear but damn, people need to understand that just because someone lied to you and told you that the customer is always right doesn't mean that I have to help support that lie.  The customer is not always right.  Most of the time the customer gets what they want because the person they are belittling has more class than to go up one side of them and down the other.

Like I said, they don't generally let me talk to customers after a certain hour.  I'm not a nice person to those who aren't nice to me and my censor guard takes a serious nap...

I really really should watch this.  One day I'm going to come across a customer who might actually complain.  But you know what, I'm not going to deny that I probably ripped them a new asshole, I'll own up because my boss knows me well enough that I couldn't perpetrate that lie on my best days.  If someone says I went off on them his first question would probably be to them "What did YOU say that caused her to rip you a new asshole?"  And you better have your story straight, too because you best be damn sure that I'm going to tell WORD FOR WORD what you said that caused me to go off.

I'm a nice person, I swear I am... NO no I don't.  My momma raised me not to swear to falsehoods.  I can be a nice person but I reciprocate what I receive and if I receive crap I WILL give you back shit.

I should not work in customer service.
I should not work in customer service.

I learned this lesson back at value city when I made a woman cry at the customer service desk because she tried to return panties that she had worn and not even bothered to wash.

I should not work in customer service.
I should not work in customer service.

I should just stay in the back and make the food and not talk to the customers.  I should do that.  I can do that.

That is what I am going to do from now on.  I'm just going to stay in the back.

Away from customers.

And make food.

For the customers.

Away from the customers.

Away from people.

Also, I want my braids back.  I miss my braids.  I know who I am with braids.  I don't know who I am with hair and I know I spent $264 dollars on these tracks and another $90 to have them put in but dammit, I want my braids back.  This crap is way too high maintenance.  I am not a high maintenance kind of girl.  I am a put it in a ponytail or let it hang kind of girl.  This crap requires combing and straightening and curling and other girly crap.

No.  Just No.  I will wash the tracks and get them sewn into Olivia's hair.  She's a girly girl  She will pull them off and be just fine and probably rock them better than I ever could.

I want my braids back.  By Thanksgiving I will have them back.  I'm so done with the pretty girl hair.
It's two am and I haven't even taken my night pills.  I'm going to go do that.

Stay Frosty bloggers.
